Claude Lévêque

Born in Nevers (France) in 1953, Claude Lévêque lives and works in Montreuil (Paris).
Since 1984, his work is exhibited in France and all around the world. He represented France in 2009 Venise Biennale
(curator : Christian Bernard, director of the MAMCO in Geneva).
Lévêque counts as one the most wellknown and successful French artist on the international contemporary art scene.

While he often refers to objets, Claude Lévêque primarily develops his works in situ, creating spaces and atmospheres.
Witness of his time and close to atlernative cultures, such as the punk movement, his work questions the blind acceptation of esthablished order.
For his first collaboration with Galerie MiniMasterpiece and the making of the “Venin” (Venom) necklace, Claude Lévêque took inspiration from his work on hand-writings and neons, one of his most favorite material, which for the occasion has become a thread of gold…
