Pablo Reinoso

Franco-Argentinian artist and designer, Pablo Reinoso was born in 1955. Since 1978 he works and leaves in Paris.
At the age of 6, he starts making little objects, at 13 he makes his first sculpture, and at 15 his first sculptural bench. Thanks to a scholarship from the Argentinian government, he goes to Carrare in Italy to learn about marble which keeps him away from the dictarorial regime taking place in Buenos Aires. He then goes to Paris to study design and becomes in the 1990s designer, artistic director and consultant in communication for luxuary brands. In 2004, he opens Pablo Reinoso Studio.
Author of the wellknown and successful  “Spaghetti bench” which was first created in 2006, he thereafter questions the state of seat.
It seems like the material – the wood – overcomes its first function to  get back to its own autonomious vegetal life.

Collaborating with historical brands (like Thonet), design galleries (Carpenters Workshop gallery) or contemporary art des galleries (Xippas, Art Plural Gallery), Pablo Reinoso pursues his artistic research both in terms of forms and concepts through the use of wood and steel, like his most recent series “Scribbling Benches” started in 2009.
