Kristin Urup

Description

Kristin Urup has a background as an architect, educated at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. She has been working for over 30 years as an architect and designer at highly reputed architect offices in Copenhagen.
In 2012 she established her firm, Kristin Urup Design, to make an old dream come true, to make jewelry of her own design and develop her skills in that direction. Her work varies from free organic shapes to precise geometrical forms known from the architectural universe, simple and spacial, like small pieces of architecture.
Each piece is handmade and unique, and tells a story. Urup has a deep understanding of all the materials she works with. Her jewelry is at once dynamic, experimental and wearable.
The Scandinavian style is evident with its purity and elegancy.

Après des études à la Royal Academy of Fine Arts de Copenhagen, Kristin Urup a travaillé comme architecte pendant 30 ans dans les plus grands cabinets danois.
En 2012, elle crée Kristin Urup Design et réalise un rêve qui l’anime depuis l’enfance : développer son propre design, et notamment par le biais du bijou.
Son travail oscille entre des formes organiques libres et une architecture géométrique et épurée.
Chaque bijou est réalisé par l’architecte à la main et en pièce unique.
