Luis Quesada

For the first time in France, a unique collection of 12 necklaces by Luis Quesada, made from precious woods, will be exhibited and offered for sale at the MiniMasterpiece gallery.

Luis Quesada (Mendoza, Argentina, 1923–2022) was an artist, craftsman, and designer who graduated from the UNCuyo School of Fine Arts in Mendoza in 1958. A key figure at the crossroads of art and applied design, he founded the Taller de Arte Popular Realista, the Club del Grabado, and the Taller de Muralistas, where he developed pioneering research on artisanal-industrial processes.

His work, which ranged from engraving and sculpture to muralism and tapestry, also developed through goldsmithing and design, with an exceptional production of jewelry, objects, and furniture.
His wooden necklaces, made by hand with the help of his daughter Acelí between 1962 and 1986, echo this extraordinary career: pieces with a strong presence, constructed with morphological rigor, material sensitivity, and a sober elegance that makes them highly collectible.

He received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Fondo Nacional de las Artes (FNA), one of Argentina's most prestigious cultural distinctions, which recognizes artistic excellence and significant contributions to the country's cultural heritage and development..
