Inspired by alternative art fairs in New York, Brussels, and Bangkok, art dealer Patrick Mestdagh and gallery owner Sébastien Janssen (Sorry We’re Closed) present the second edition of The Rooms, a Brussels-based art and antiques fair. Held at Mix Brussels, a 4-star hotel located in the former headquarters of the Royale Belge, the event will welcome more than forty internationally renowned art galleries within the hotel; each will take over a room to create a unique world. Luis Quesada, Southern Territories, uniques pieces 1962-1986
For the first time in France, a unique collection of 12 necklaces by Luis Quesada, made from precious woods, will be exhibited and offered for sale at the MiniMasterpiece gallery in collaboration with Satsch Gallery (Buenos Aires). Luis Quesada (Mendoza, Argentina, 1923–2022) was an artist, craftsman, and designer who graduated from the UNCuyo School of Fine Arts in Mendoza in 1958. A key figure at the crossroads of art and applied design, he founded the Taller de Arte Popular Realista, the Club del Grabado, and the Taller de Muralistas, where he developed pioneering research on artisanal-industrial processes. In Japan, bamboo is a sacred plant. Supple as the wind yet strong as metal, it embodies strength, youth, and longevity. During her artistic research residency at Villa Kujoyama in Kyoto in 2025, designer Marion Vidal explored bamboo as a creative medium in its own right. She reveals its uniqueness, physical properties, and symbolic significance, while pushing the material toward sculptural expression.
