Maïlys Seydoux-Dumas
Born in Saumur in 1967 and graduating from the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 1992, after training in engraving in Jean Clerté's studio, Maïlys Seydoux Dumas combines painting with engraving, tapestry, and now jewelry making in her work. Through color, material, and design, she expresses a dialogue with reality. Maïlys paints scenes from her life. Her palette reveals her inner world. The objects that surround her are reflected in her work, bearing witness to her daily life and her dreams.
Since 1997, her work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions, mainly in France, Belgium, and Switzerland.
"My artistic journey has taken me from engraving to painting, then from painting to tapestry. I made my own jewelry for fun, and to my surprise, people liked it, and I enjoy doing it. Just as my painting reflects an intimate story, I want my jewelry to convey the happiness of a rediscovered childhood. As a child, I remember making beautiful tiaras out of chestnut leaves.
It's a memory I would like to share with other women."
Maïlys has been collaborating with MiniMasterpiece since 2022.
