Jean-Luc Moulène
Born in Reims (France) in 1955, Jean-Luc Moulène lives and works in Paris since 1975.
The body of works of Jean-Luc Moulène is highly diversified : drawings, paintings, many photographs – mostly in series -, newspapers, books, brochures and sculptures. Since 2000, many of his shows include both photographs and sculptures.
Represented by parisian gallery Chantal Crousel, Moulène’s first major solo show was hosted by Dia:Beacon in 2011.
The ring «OS» (bone in english) is the first sculpture-jewel by Moulène. It was conceived at the occasion of the artist’s solo show at Centre Pompidou – Paris (October 2016 – February 2017).
The pendant is the second project in collaboration with Jean-Luc Moulène. It is made directly by the clients. Holding hands, they press strongly a ball of wax.
Each hand printing on its side lines of life and skin prints. It is then entrusted to the goldsmith who, through the technique of lost wax, will make the unique gold print.
The jewel will be worn as a pendant, its rotating ring of suspension will allow it to be carried on one side or the other without having to unhook it.
